Uncompromisingly pure- we are the gentlest infant food supplement on the market. This is because we are free from all nasties, including allergens and have strived to be as natural as possible. Our product simply provides the advised levels of the three vitamins recommended by the Department of Health (namely A, C, and D), and leaves out all the other unnecessary ingredients. Aside from water, the only other ingredient is Glycerine. This small amount of Glycerine is necessary to keep the product fresh.

With supplementation, we really believe that in most cases less is more. The Department of Health currently advise that infants only receive a daily supplement of vitamins A, C, and D. This is because for the majority of children most, if not all, of their nutritional needs are met through a healthy balanced diet (and complementary breast milk/infant formula depending on the age of the child).

Little to no research has been conducted on the possible side effects and consequences of unnecessary and excessive supplementation, which is why our product compliments the infant diet by only providing the three vitamins recommended by the Department of Health. What’s more, unlike many others, it’s why our product doesn’t exceed the exact recommended level of these vitamins (when given in the advised amount).

The Department of Health recommends that from the age of six months all children are given a supplement containing vitamins A, C, and D. Our product delivers these three advised vitamins in precisely the correct dose. Healthy food (in combination with breast milk or infant formula for younger children) can provide most infants with all the micro-nutrients they need to grow and thrive.

That’s why the Department of Health advises that only three vitamins require supplementation. Furthermore, the consequences and risks of unnecessary supplementation are not yet fully understood. Our carefully formulated product delivers the three recommended vitamins at exactly the right dose without unnecessary, excessive and potentially harmful over-supplementation.

As you may know, the most common forms of vitamins D are D2 and D3. It is now widely accepted in the scientific community that the D3 variant is the best for supplementation. This is because it is more readily absorbed by the body. The D3 used in our product is suitable for vegans.

Babies who are being breastfed should be given a daily vitamin D supplement from birth, whether or not the breastfeeding parent is taking a supplement containing vitamin D. Vitamin D helps control the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy and a lack of vitamin D can sadly lead to bone deformities such as rickets. The main source of vitamin D is summer sunlight on our skin, but as it’s so important to keep babies skin safe in the sun it’s recommended to supplement from birth.

Babies from birth to one year of age should be given a daily supplement of 8.5-10 micrograms vitamin D. Babies who have more than 500ml a day of infant formula do not need a supplement as formula is already fortified.

The only other ingredients in are Organic Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil and a teeny tiny amount of Vitamin E for freshness.
